  1. 21. Theoretical Investigations of Two-Dimensional Materials : Studies on Electronic, Magnetic, Mechanical, and Thermal Properties

    Author : Xin Chen; Biplab Sanyal; Susanne Mirbt; Kristian Sommer Thygsen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; 2D materials; DFT; Structure search; Functional materials; Physics with spec. in Atomic; Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot atom- molekyl- och kondenserande materiens fysik;

    Abstract : Two-dimensional (2D) materials have been paid enormous attention since the first realization of graphene in 2004, in connection to high-speed flexible electronics, 2D magnetism, optoelectronics, and so on. Apart from graphene, many new 2D materials with special properties have been predicted and synthesized. READ MORE

  2. 22. Wet Low-Intensity Magnetic Separation: Measurement methods and Modelling

    Author : Jan Stener; Holger Lieberwirth; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Abstract : In the mining industry, ferromagnetic particles (e.g. magnetite) are concentrated using wet low-intensity magnetic separation (LIMS). Mineral particles in suspension with water are pumped into the separator tank, and a magnetic concentrate is extracted by use of magnetic forces. READ MORE

  3. 23. Regulation of the multi-functional protein YscU in assembly of the Yersinia type III secretion injectisome

    Author : Ho Ngoc Hoang Oanh; Magnus Wolf-Watz; Anna Linusson Jonsson; Maria Sunnerhagen; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Type III secretion system T3SS ; injectisome; Yersinia pseudotuberculosis; inhibitors; Yops; YscU; YscP; YscI; disorder-to-order transition; nuclear magnetic resonance NMR ; circular dichroism CD ; isothermal titration calorimetry ITC ; biologisk kemi; biological chemistry;

    Abstract : Yersinia pseudotuberculosis is a Gram-negative zoonotic pathogenic bacterium causing gastroenteritis in human and animals. It shares a conserved virulence plasmid encoding for a needle-like secretion machinery, or type III secretion system, which can be found in other pathogenic Gram-negative bacteria. READ MORE

  4. 24. Chimeric gene delivery vectors : Design, synthesis, and mechanisms from transcriptomics analysis

    Author : Moataz Dowaidar; Ülo Langel; Sandrine Sagan; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell-penetrating peptides; magnetic nanoparticles; graphene oxide; autophagy; siRNA; SCO; QSAR; neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi; Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology;

    Abstract : Delivery of nucleic acid is a promising approach for genetic diseases/disorders. However, gene therapy using oligonucleotides (ONs) suffers from low transfection efficacy due to negative charges, weak cellular permeability, and enzymatic degradation. READ MORE

  5. 25. The Interaction between Triblock Copolymers and Surfactants in Dilute Aqueous Solution

    Author : Jörgen Jansson; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polymer technology; biopolymers; Polymerteknik; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; Calorimetry; SAXS; DLS; SLS; Light scattering; Structure; Complex; Block copolymer-surfactant interaction; Block copolymer vesicles; Self-assembly; Triblock copolymers; NMR;

    Abstract : The solution properties of dilute aqueous solutions of poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(propylene oxide)-poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO-PPO-PEO) triblock copolymers and their interaction with surfactants have been investigated using static and dynamic light scattering, combined with small angle X-ray scattering, calorimetry and nuclear magnetic resonance techniques. In aqueous solution, the triblock copolymers P123 and F127 (EO20PO68EO20 and EO97PO68EO97, respectively) form micelles with a PPO core and a PEO corona. READ MORE
