1. Magnetic Heterostructures : The Effect of Compositional Modulation on Magnetic Properties
Abstract : The effect of compositional modulation on structural and magnetic properties of magnetic heterostructures was explored. The systems under focus were ferromagnetic superlattices Fe81Ni19/Co, metal-insulator multilayers Al2O3/Ni81Fe19, nanoparticles and artificial multilayered pillars. READ MORE

2. Impedance of Soft Magnetic Multilayers : Application to GHz Thin Film Inductors
Abstract : A theoretical approach to calculating impedance of metallicmagnetic/conductor layered structures is developed. Thefrequency range considered extends to the ferromagneticresonance region of soft magnetic films (of the order of 1GHz). READ MORE

3. Uncovering Magnetic Order in Nanostructured Disordered Materials : A Study of Amorphous Magnetic Layered Structures
Abstract : The scope of this thesis is the study of the interplay between structure and magnetism in amorphous materials. The investigations focus on the growth of amorphous layers and the study of the influence of structural disorder and reduced physical extension on the magnetic properties of thin films and multilayers. 4. Magnetism of Semiconductors and Metallic Multilayers
Abstract : Magnetic properties of diluted magnetic semiconductors and magnetic metallic multilayers are investigated by SQUID magnetometry. By doping GaAs with magnetic Mn2+ ions under well defined growth conditions, one obtains a diluted magnetic semiconductor, (Ga,Mn)As, in which the randomly-distributed magnetic ions act as acceptor centers. 5. Mössbauer spectroscopy on selectred magnetic compounds
Abstract : The applications of magnetic materials are related to their magnetic and crystal structure as well as electronic properties. In this thesis, mainly experimental methods have been focussed on novel materials and bulk materials. READ MORE
