16. Design, Synthesis And Characterization Of Magnetic Ferrite Nanostructures : Toward Novel Permanent Magnets
Abstract : Magnetic oxide nanoparticles (NPs) may interact with each-other for example via dipolar or superexchange interactions, depending whether they are in direct contact. These interparticle interactions yield both ferro- and/or antiferromagnetic coupling and modify the energy barrier of the magnetic particle, depending upon the strength of the coupling and orientation of the particles. 17. The Nucleus 59Cu - Complex Structure, Shape Evolution, Exotic Decay Modes
Abstract : High-spin states in the mass A~60 region were populated using the state-of-art gamma-ray spectrometers Gammasphere, Euroball, and GASP in conjunction with dedicated ancillary detectors. In particular, the 59Cu nucleus was studied in several experiments, and a very extensive level scheme was determined. READ MORE

18. Wet magnetic concentration for weakly magnetic mineral fines and ultrafines
Abstract : The first objective of the thesis was to reveal the characteristic magnetic behaviour of natural weakly magnetic minerals (such as hematite and chromite), and the size limits of the particles recoverable by the existing modem high intensity and high gradient magnetic separators. The second objective was to enhance the particle aggregation andlor the magnetic response for wet magnetic concentration of the ultrafines which escaped from the separators. READ MORE

19. Self-assembly of magnetic particles
Abstract : Self-assembly is the spontaneous formation of larger structures from small building blocks. This process is driven and determined by the interactions between the constituents. READ MORE

20. Electron-scale physics in space plasma : Thin boundaries and magnetic reconnection
Abstract : Most of the observable Universe consists of plasma, a kind of ionized gas that interacts with electric and magnetic fields. Large volumes of space are filled with relatively uniform plasmas that convect with the magnetic field. READ MORE
