    Abstract : In recent years, the interest for miniaturization of spaceborne instruments and subsystems has increased steadily, as this enables development of small and lightweight satellite classes as well as more versatile payloads on traditional spacecraft. In essence, this thesis work is an investigation of the applicability of magnetoresistive technology to a magnetometer intended for space. READ MORE

  3. 3. Magnetotransport Studies of Mn Ion-Implanted Nanowires

    Author : Waldomiro Paschoal; Linnaeus University; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; hopping conduction; ferromagnetism; ion-implantation; Nanowire; GaMnAs; magnetoresistance; Fysicumarkivet A:2014:Paschoal;

    Abstract : This thesis focuses on the magnetotransport properties of highly Mn-doped crystalline GaAs nanowires. The GaAs nanowires were first grown by metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy from gold seed particles, and subsequently implanted with Mn ions under varying conditions, e.g., ion fluence and acceleration voltage. 4. 4. Magnetotransport Measurements of Ni Thin Films

    Author : Shawn Alexander Boye; Peter Lazor; Hans Annersten; Per Nordblad; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth sciences; magnetoresistance; Hall effect; diamond anvil cell; magnon scattering; band ferromagnetism; nickel; Geovetenskap; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap;

    Abstract : This thesis presents transverse magnetoresistance (MR) and Hall resistivity measurements of nickel thin films at temperatures between 280 and 455 K and pressures up to 6 GPa. An experimental system was developed for conducting precise magnetotransport measurements using the current reversal and van der Pauw techniques in combination with a 10 T superconducting magnet. 5. 5. Effects of the Spin-Orbit Interaction on Transport and Optical Properties of III-V Semiconductor Quantum Wells

    Author : Vladimir Froltsov; Matematisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spin-orbit interaction; quantum well; III-V; Raman scattering; magnetoresistance; weak localization; spin distribution; magnetic field; Fysik; Physics; Fysicumarkivet A:2000:Froltsov; Halvledarfysik; Semiconductory physics; semiconductor;

    Abstract : Effects of the intrinsic electron spin-orbit interaction on transport and optical properties of III-V semiconductor quantum wells have been studied theoretically. It is shown that due to crystal anisotropy of this interaction, the weak localization magnetoresistance in a magnetic field parallel to interfaces is very sensitive to the epitaxy growth direction and also to the orientation of the magnetic field with respect to the crystal axes.
