    Abstract : Against the background of rising anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions, carbon capture andstorage (CCS) has been proposed as a means of mitigating climate change by storing CO2 capturedfrom large point sources in underground geological formations such as aquifers or depleted oilandgas fields.
