  1. 6. Gas-sensors for Automobile Interiors

    Author : Eva-Lotta Kalman; Haugen John-Erik; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The concentration of pollutants in the car compartment air is influenced not only by neighboring vehicles, but also by pollutants originating from the car's interior trim materials. These pollutants may cause nuisance and even pose a safety risk as some condense on the windscreen and form an oily film that dims the screen. READ MORE

  2. 7. On the On-line Tools for Treatment of Deterioration in Industrial Processes

    Author : Christer Karlsson; Erik Dahlquist; Risto Ritala; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : Deterioration; Industrial Processes; Sensors; Process models; Neural networks; Bayesian networks; Data reconciliation; Steam turbines; Boilers; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Abstract : For industrial processes high availability and efficiency are important goals in plant operation. This thesis presents studies and development of tools for on-line treatment of process deterioration and model and sensor errors in order to achieve these goals. READ MORE

  3. 8. Free-Vehicle Benthic Lander Technology for the Study of Biogeochemical Processes in Marine Sediments

    Author : Anders Tengberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; marine sediments; benthic fluxes; incubations; chambers; in-situ; benthic landers; autonomous vehicles; lander technology; hydrodynamics; calibration; experimental design; Partial Least Squares PLS ; sensors; fugacity; oxygen; carbon; nitrogen; phosphorus; silica; dissolved organic carbon DOC ; total carbonate; recycling; burial; lander technology;

    Abstract : Various sediment sampling and incubation techniques were used to characterize benthic biogeochemical processes important for an improved understanding of the oceanic carbon cycle. Recent flux data from the Arctic Siberian shelf are revealing differences (often by a factor of ten) between areas affected by the big Russian river outlets (high fluxes) and areas with low influence from land (low fluxes). 4. 9. Interactions of methane and carbon monoxide with platinum - Supported catalysts and chemical sensors

    Author : Elin Becker; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Periodic operation In situ spectroscopy; XAS; CO; Sensing mechanism; Low-temperature activity; XANES; Pt; Environmental catalysis; Support material; CH4; Chemical sensors;

    Abstract : This thesis aims at increasing the understanding of the interactions of methane and carbon monoxide with platinum in connection to catalysis and sensor technology for emission control. Specifically, the low-temperature oxidation of methane and carbon monoxide over supported platinum catalysts and the sensor response mechanism towards CO of platinum-based chemical field effect sensors were studied. 5. 10. Chemical Sensors and Multivariate Data Analysis

    Author : Henrik Petersson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Today, sensors can be found in many different applications, such as in home appliances, vehicles, medical equipments, mobile technology etc. Nearly all products with a reasonable technological height have a sensor integrated.Chemical Sensors are devices able to sense the chemical environment and are today an active area of research.
