  1. 1. Seismic imaging of volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits : From legacy to innovative surveys

    Author : George A. Donoso; Alireza Malehmir; Beatriz Benjumea; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Seismic imaging; 3D seismic; Data processing; volcanogenic massive sulphides;

    Abstract : The volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits at the Neves-Corvo mine area, part of the Iberian Pyrite Belt in southern Portugal, were studied using seismic methods.  Three distinct reflection seismic datasets were used in this study: a 2D legacy data from 1996, an innovative 2019 surface and in-mine acquisition, and a 2011 3D seismic survey. 2. 2. A feasibility study of exploration for deep seated ore bodies in the Skellefte field

    Author : Kerstin Malmqvist; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Monte Carlo simulation; deep exploration; massive sulphides;

    Abstract : Simulation technique has been used for a feasibility study of a deep exploration project for massive sulphides in an old mining district, the Skellefte field. The outcome under very different conditions has been studied. READ MORE

  3. 3. Mineralogical characterisation of the Rockliden antimony-bearing volcanic-hosted massive sulphide deposit, Sweden

    Author : Friederike Minz; Kurt Aasly; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : Rockliden is a polymetallic Zn-Cu volcanic-hosted massive sulphide (VHMS) deposit. It is located in north-central Sweden about 150 km south of the Skellefte ore district. Two major challenges to mining and production were identified soon after Rockliden was discovered in the 1980’s. READ MORE

  4. 4. 3D structural framework and constraints on the timing of hydrothermal alteration and ore formation at the Falun Zn-Pb-Cu-(Au-Ag) sulphide deposit, Bergslagen, Sweden

    Author : Tobias Christoph Kampmann; Pietari Skyttä; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : The Falun pyritic Zn-Pb-Cu-(Au-Ag) sulphide deposit, situated in the Palaeoproterozoic (1.9–1.8 Ga) Bergslagen lithotectonic unit in the south-western part of the Fennoscandian Shield, is one of the major base and minor precious metal sulphide deposits in Sweden. READ MORE
