11. Some topics in web performance analysis
Abstract : This thesis consists of four papers on web performance analysis. In the first paper we investigate the performance of overload control through queue length for two different web server architectures. The simulation result suggests that the benefit of request prioritization is noticeable only when the capacities of the sub-systems match each other. READ MORE

12. Spectrally Precoded OFDM-Design and Analysis
Abstract : Despite shifting towards mm-wave bands, the sub-6 GHz band will continue to be a fundamental spectral band in 5G. However, the severe congestion in this band makes a well-constrained spectrum a critical requirementof 5G. READ MORE

13. Work, Sickness, Earnings, and Early Exits from the Labor Market: An empirical analysis using Swedish longitudinal data

14. Network models with applications to genomic data: generalization, validation and uncertainty assessment
Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to provide a framework for the estimation and analysis of transcription networks in human cancer. The methods we develop are applied to data collected by The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and supporting simulations are based on derived models in order to reflect real data structure. READ MORE

The aim is operationalised through the following research questions: 1) How do parents and teachers utilise their social and cultural resources in their encounters? 2) How can certain resources function as forms of capital in relation to different practices in the field? 3) What practices do teachers and parents employ to preserve and/or subvert their relative positions in their encounters? The theoretical framework is grounded in Pierre Bourdieu’s theory of practice and the main conceptual tools are habitus, capital and doxa. READ MORE
