  1. 1. Mathematical Multi-Objective Optimization of the Tactical Allocation of Machining Resources in Functional Workshops

    Author : Sunney Fotedar; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Decision-making; Robust efficient solutions; Discrete bi-objective optimization; Capacity planning; Discrete tri-objective optimization; Production planning; Coverage gap;

    Abstract : In the aerospace industry, efficient management of machining capacity is crucial to meet the required service levels to customers and to maintain control of the tied-up working capital. We introduce new multi-item , multi-level capacitated resource allocation models with a medium--to--long--term planning horizon. READ MORE

  2. 2. Vector-valued Eisenstein series of congruence types and their products

    Author : Jiacheng Xia; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hecke operator; Fourier expansion of modular forms; congruence type; products of Eisenstein series; vector-valued modular forms;

    Abstract : Historically, Kohnen and Zagier connected modular forms with period polynomials, and as a consequence of this association concluded that the products of at most two Eisenstein series span all spaces of classical modular forms of level 1. Later Borisov and Gunnells among other authors extended the result to higher levels. READ MORE

  3. 3. The Skorohod problem and weak approximation of stochastic differential equations in time-dependent domains

    Author : Thomas Önskog; Kaj Nyström; Leif Persson; Johan Tysk; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Skorohod problem; weak approximation; time-dependent domain; stochastic differential equations; parabolic partial differential equations; oblique reflection; stopped diffusions; Euler scheme; adaptive methods; sensitivity analysis; financial derivatives; Greeks ; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK; Mathematics; matematik;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of a summary and four scientific articles. All four articles consider various aspects of stochastic differential equations and the purpose of the summary is to provide an introduction to this subject and to supply the notions required in order to fully understand the articles. 4. 4. Some numerical and analytical methods for equations of wave propagation and kinetic theory

    Author : Eva Mossberg; Alexander Bobylev; Giovanni Russo; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; wave propagation; finite difference metods high order methods; Landau-Fokker-Planck equation; Monte-Carlo simulations; Boltzmann equation; hard sphere model; eigenvalue problem; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK; Matematik; Mathematics;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of two different parts, related to two different fields in mathematical physics: wave propagation and kinetic theory of gases. Various mathematical and computational problems for equations from these areas are treated. READ MORE

  5. 5. Topological and geometrical methods in data analysis

    Author : Oliver Gäfvert; Sandra di Rocco; Henry Schenck; KTH; []

    Abstract : This thesis concerns two related data analysis pipelines, using topological and geometrical methods respectively, to extract relevant information. The first pipeline, referred to as the topological data analysis (TDA) pipeline, constructs a filtered simplicial complex on a given data set in order to describe its shape. READ MORE
