1. Synthesis and Characterization of High Entropy Alloy and Coating
Abstract : High entropy alloys (HEAs) are a new class of alloys that contains five or more principal elements in equiatomic or near-equiatomic proportional ratio. The configuration entropy in the HEAs tends to stabilize the solid solution formation, such as body-centered-cubic (BCC), face-centered-cubic (FCC) and/or hexagonal-closed-pack (HCP) solid solution. 2. Increasing phase transformation rate in advanced high strength steel applications
Abstract : The bainite transformation rate has been shown to increase by starting the heat treatment with partial martensite transformation after austenitization. Based on this fact, a process very similar to “Quenching and Partitioning” (Q&P) is used to produce a fine-grained complex microstructure of martensite, bainite and retained austenite with outstanding mechanical properties in a very short time. 3. Cracking during Continuous Casting of Steels : Analysis tools and procedures to identify their causes on microalloyed steel slabs
Abstract : Transverse corner cracks are one of the most common but complex defects formed in microalloyed steels during continuous casting (CC). Such cracks are detrimental because it leads to a loss in productivity with a great impact on environment, energy and economics for several steel making companies all over the world. READ MORE

4. Reduction Annealing Synthesis of Nanostructured Carbide and Nitride Particulate Composites
Abstract : This thesis covers reduction-annealing synthesis of nanostructured SiC-TiCN and SiC-TiC particulate composite powders. These were characterized by X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy. READ MORE

5. Spark Plasma Sintered 3Y-TZP/CNT composites
Abstract : Composites of 3 mol% yttria-doped tetragonal zirconia (3Y-TZP) reinforced with multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) up to 2 wt% have been produced using spark plasma sintering (SPS). The theoretical densities of the studied composites were found to be between 99.4 and 97.4 %. READ MORE
