1. Mathematical Learning Disability : Cognitive Conditions, Development and Predictions
Abstract : The purpose of the present thesis was to test and contrast hypotheses about the cognitive conditions that support the development of mathematical learning disability (MLD). Following hypotheses were tested in the thesis: a) domain general deficit, the deficit is primarily located in the domain general systems such as the working memory, b) number sense deficit, the deficit is located in the innate approximate number system (ANS), c) numerosity coding deficit, the deficit is located to a exact number representation system, d) access deficit, the deficit is in the mapping between symbols and the innate number representational system (e. 2. The Symmetric Meixner-Pollaczek polynomials
Abstract : The Symmetric Meixner-Pollaczek polynomials are considered. We denote these polynomials in this thesis by pn(λ)(x) instead of the standard notation pn(λ) (x/2, π/2), where λ > 0. READ MORE

3. Homogenization of some new mathematical models in lubrication theory
Abstract : We consider mathematical modeling of thin film flow between two rough surfaces which are in relative motion. For example such flows take place in different kinds of bearings and gears when a lubricant is used to reduce friction and wear between the surfaces. READ MORE

4. Monotonicity formulas and applications in free boundary problems
Abstract : This thesis consists of three papers devoted to the study of monotonicity formulas and their applications in elliptic and parabolic free boundary problems. The first paper concerns an inhomogeneous parabolic problem. READ MORE

5. Boundary values of plurisubharmonic functions and related topics
Abstract : This thesis consists of three papers concerning problems related to plurisubharmonic functions on bounded hyperconvex domains, in particular boundary values of such functions. The papers summarized in this thesis are:* Paper I Urban Cegrell and Berit Kemppe, Monge-Ampère boundary measures, Ann. Polon. Math. READ MORE
