  1. 1. Mathematical Learning Disability : Cognitive Conditions, Development and Predictions

    Author : Rickard Östergren; Ulf Träff; Joakim Samuelsson; Örjan Dahlström; Åke Olofsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Mathematical learning disability; dyscalculia; mathematical cognition; number sense; Matematiska inlärningssvårigheter; dyskalkyli; matematisk kognition; antalsuppfattning;

    Abstract : The purpose of the present thesis was to test and contrast hypotheses about the cognitive conditions that support the development of mathematical learning disability (MLD). Following hypotheses were tested in the thesis: a) domain general deficit, the deficit is primarily located in the domain general systems such as the working memory, b) number sense deficit, the deficit is located in the innate approximate number system (ANS), c) numerosity coding deficit, the deficit is located to a exact number representation system, d) access deficit, the deficit is in the mapping between symbols and the innate number representational system (e. 2. 2. The role and use of water in agriculture in the Western Balkans: the case of Macedonia

    Author : Jordan Hristov; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the role and demand for water in Macedonia from an economic perspective with an emphasis on agricultural use. The first paper provides an overview of the Macedonian agricultural sector and assesses the productivity growth in the period 1999-2010. In the study period, the sector experienced an average increase in volume of 1. READ MORE

  3. 3. Optimized route selection for logging trucks : improvements to calibrated route finder

    Author : Gunnar Svenson; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The forestry sector is playing an important role in the transition to a bioeconomy.In the supply chain of forest raw material, logging transport is a crucial component. The forestry sector must improve transport efficiency to mitigate its impact on the environment, to reduce costs and road safety risks,and to remain competitive. READ MORE

  4. 4. Ectomycorrhizal Fungal Mycelial Dynamics and its Role in Forest Soil Carbon Cycling

    Author : Andreas Hagenbo; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Most boreal tree species rely on root-associated ectomycorrhizal fungi for nutrient acquisition, in exchange the trees allocate part of their photosynthetically fixed carbon (C) to these fungi. This has a feedback on soil C dynamics as mycorrhizal fungi are important in regulating soil C cycling and storage. READ MORE

    Author : Peter Brommesson; Tom Lindström; Uno Wennergren; Angela Luis; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Spread of transboundary animal diseases can have large impact on animal welfare, public health and economy. The effects of this include economic losses in terms of lower milk production, lower weight gain and culling due to welfare concerns. READ MORE
