21. On Clinical and Mechanical Aspects in Implant Supported Screw Retained Multi-unit CAD-CAM Metal Framework
Abstract : Conventionally casted frameworks have been considered the preferredsolutions for complete and partial restorations since the beginningof implantology. However, following technological development, thecomputer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM)with milling the frameworks has been introduced as an alternativeoption with the potential of minimising inaccuracies, reducing theoperator dependence and offering a homogeneous structure with highmechanical properties. 22. On the biological behavior of barrier membranes: implications for Guided Bone Regeneration. Clinical and Experimental studies
Abstract : There is a continuous development of bone augmentation solutions to meet the rising demand for effective dental implant rehabilitations. One of the most used techniques is Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR). READ MORE

23. Gene expression during hard tissue formation
Abstract : The purpose of this thesis was to study the formation of the extracellular matrix (ECM) of bone and dentin during development. Molecular techniques, such as in situ hybridization and RT-PCR, were used to investigate the occurrence of specific gene products in formative cells. READ MORE

24. Cone Beam Computed Tomography in Evaluations of Some Side Effects of Orthodontic Treatment
Abstract : In the late 1990s a new imaging modality, Cone Beam CT (CBCT) that enables high quality three-dimensional imaging at lower doses than Computed Tomography (CT), was introduced in dento-maxillofacial imaging. In 2005 the Swedish Council on Health Technology Assessment (SBU), in a review of scientific articles on Malocclusions and Orthodontic Treatment in a Health Perspective, found low or contradictive evidence for an association between orthodontic treatment and risks for negative side effects. 25. On Bone Regeneration in Porous Bioceramics - Studies in humans and rabbits using free form fabricated scaffolds
Abstract : The objective of the present thesis was to evaluate the effect of material chemistry and macroand micro-porosity on bone regeneration in association with synthetic, porous ceramic materials. Ceramic scaffolds were designed and manufactured for experimental and human studies using free form fabrication (FFF), a technique which produces the object layer by layer using data from CAD files.
