1. Off-shell, maximal supersymmetry & exceptional geometry
Abstract : Two lines of research are presented in this thesis, both with a focus on fundamental properties within the supersymmetric theories of high energy physics. The first features analyses based on the actions for maximal supersymmetric Yang–Mills theory and supergravity, provided by the pure spinor formalism. READ MORE

2. On applications of manifest, maximal supersymmetry & U-duality
Abstract : Maximal supersymmetry is made manifest through the introduction of the pure spinor formalism. In many ways, this formalism represents a powerful tool in examinations of characteristics of different theories in high energy physics, though it is far from extensively exploited. READ MORE

3. Maximally Supersymmetric Models in Four and Six Dimensions
Abstract : We consider two examples of maximally supersymmetric models; the N=4 Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions and the (2,0) theory in six dimensions. The first part of the thesis serves as an introduction to the topics covered in the appended research papers, and begins with a self-contained discussion of principal fibre bundles and symplectic geometry. 4. Automorphic forms and string theory: Small automorphic representations and non-perturbative effects
Abstract : This compilation thesis stems from a project with the purpose of determining non-perturbative contributions to scattering amplitudes in string theory carrying important information about instantons, black hole quantum states and M-theory. The scattering amplitudes are functions on the moduli space invariant under the discrete U-duality group and this invariance is one of the defining properties of an automorphic form. READ MORE

5. Exact Results in Supersymmetric Field Theories : A dissertation on the defect and deformed
Abstract : Quantum field theories (QFTs) are the most precise descriptions of the physical reality that humanity has found. Yet exact predictions are often missing as most computations are notoriously difficult to carry out. One generally resorts to perturbation theory which immediately limits the regime of validity.
