  1. 1. Epistemic beliefs and conceptions of competence in education for sustainable development

    Author : Marie Grice; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; education for sustainable development; epistemic beliefs; teachers ESD competences; measuring instruments; exploratory factor analysis; philosophizing with; ethical competence; action readiness;

    Abstract : Education for sustainable development (ESD) raises critical questions regarding what knowledge should be taught and what the learning outcomes should be. The aim of this thesis is to explore epistemological, ethical and critical dimensions of ESD. There are two empirical sites. READ MORE

  2. 2. Measuring quality of occupational performance based on self-report and observation : development and validation of instruments to evaluate ADL task performance

    Author : Eva Ejlersen Waehrens; Anne G Fisher; Hans Lund; Bente Danneskiold-Samsöe; Lena von Koch; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; activities of daily living; acquired brain injury; ADL evaluation; ADL task performance; chronic disease; chronic widespread pain; interview; observation; occupational therapy; observation-based evaluation; questionnaire; Rasch measurement; rheumatic diseases; Occupational therapy; Arbetsterapi; Occupational therapy; arbetsterapi;

    Abstract : Background People with rheumatic or neurologic conditions are commonly referred for occupational therapy because of decreased ability to perform ADL tasks. Upon referral, occupational therapists use a client-centred, occupationfocused approach when evaluating a person's perceived and observed quality of ADL task performance to clarify the nature and extent of the person’s problems, plan interventions and determine effectiveness of interventions. 3. 3. Measuring and modelling light scattering in paper

    Author : Niklas Johansson; Per Edström; Mattias Andersson; Magnus Neuman; Jon Yngve Hardeberg; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; goniophotometry; anisotropy; angle resolved light scattering; reflectance measurements; turbid media;

    Abstract : Avhandlingen behandlar de teoretiska och praktiska aspekterna av att använda spektrala vinkelupplösta reflektansmätningar för optisk karakterisering av fiberbaserade material såsom papper och kartong. En spektral goniofotometer används för att mäta det reflekterade ljusets vinkelfördelning. READ MORE

  4. 4. Measuring and Predicting Transient Diesel Engine Emissions

    Author : Anders Westlund; Hans-Erik Ångström; Rolf Egnell; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Emission modelling; Mechanical and thermal engineering; Mekanisk och termisk energiteknik;

    Abstract :   Due to its impact on human health and the nature surrounding us, diesel engine emissions have been significantly reduced over the last two decades. This reduction has been enforced by the legislating organs around the world that gradually have made the manufacturers transform their engines to today’s complex high-tech products. READ MORE

  5. 5. Measuring Water Droplets to Detect Atmospheric Icing

    Author : Staffan Rydblom; Benny Thörnberg; Mattias O'Nils; Anssi Mäkynen; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : This thesis describes the exploration of a method to measurethe droplet size and the concentration of atmospheric liquid water. The purpose is to find a cost effective technique to detect the conditions for icing on structures. READ MORE
