1. Cost Optimization of Aircraft Structures
Abstract : Composite structures can lower the weight of an airliner significantly. Due to the higher process complexity and the high material cost, however, the low weight often comes with a significant increase in production cost. The application of cost-effective design strategies is one mean to meet this challenge. READ MORE

2. Component Synthesis of Machine Tool and Cutter for Process Optimisation
Abstract : Metal cutting is today one of the leading forming processes in the manufacturing industry. The metal cutting industry houses several actors providing machine tools and cutting tools with a fierce competition as a consequence. Extensive efforts are made to improve the performance of both machine tools and cutting tools. READ MORE

3. Understanding mobile service diffusion as an evolutionary process: A study of the Swedish market
Abstract : This thesis aims to highlight the connections between the diffusion of innovation theory and the evolutionary models for technological changes within the context of mobile communication research. On the basis of empirical findings, the discussion focuses on addressing three research questions: Why should mobile service diffusion be understood as an evolutionary process? How should mobile service diffusion be explained and modelled using evolutionary conceptions? And in what way the evolutionary framework could influence future mobile service diffusion studies?Based on empirical observations and a literature study, this thesis argues that mobile service diffusion involves dynamic, developmental and historical economic process which is comparable to an evolutionary process. 4. Condition monitoring of machine tools and machining processes using internal sensor signals
Abstract : Condition monitoring of critical machine tool components and machining processes is a key factor to increase the availability of the machine tool and achieving a more robust machining process. Failures in the machining process and machine tool components may also have negative effects on the final produced part. READ MORE

5. Tool steel for tool holder applications : microstructure and mechanical properties
Abstract : Large improvements in cutting tool design and technology, including the application of advanced surface engineering treatments on the cemented carbide insert, have been achieved in the last decades to enhance tool performance. However, the problem of improving the tool body material is not adequately studied. READ MORE
