1. On the influence of surface roughness on rolling contact forces
Abstract : Road vehicle tyres, railway wheels and ball bearings all generate rolling contact forces which are transferred within a finite area of contact between the rolling element and the substrate. Either it is visible or not for the human eye, a certain degree of roughness is always present on the contacting surfaces and it influences the generation of both vertical and lateral contactforces. 2. Modeling Diesel spray combustion using a Detailed Chemistry Approach
Abstract : The rapid development of computer hardware during the past decade has contributed substantially to advances in almost all branches of science. Computer modeling is being applied to increasingly small physical scales and increasingly large domains, facilitating the generation of advanced phenomenological models and models based on first principles. 3. Mechanical Behaviour of Adhesive Layers : Methods to Extract Peel and Mixed Mode Properties
Abstract : Mechanical Behaviour of Adhesive Layers Methods to Extract Peel and Mixed Mode Properties TOBIAS ANDERSSON Department of Applied Mechanics Chalmers University of Technology ABSTRACT This thesis is concerned with methods to extract material properties of thin adhesive layers loaded in peel and in mixed mode. The first part of the thesis is devoted to an experimental method to determine the complete stress-elongation relation (or cohesive law) for an adhesive layer loaded in peel using the DCB-specimen. 4. Micro-grinding of titanium
Abstract : Titanium and its alloys are difficult-to-cut materials, commonly used in several application fields, such as: medicine, aerospace, automotive and turbine manufacturing due to their biocompatibility, corrosion resistance, excellent mechanical and thermal properties, and light weight. However, its machining is associated with several difficulties, such as high tool wear, low surface quality, high cutting forces and high costs. READ MORE

5. Turbulence in Business Networks : A Longitudinal Study of Mergers, Acquisitions and Bankruptcies Involving Swedish IT-companies
Abstract : The end of the twentieth centry, and the beginning of the twenty-first, was a revolving period with many mergers, acquisitions and bankruptcies among Swedish IT-companies. Such events are likely to affect more than just the companies directly involved, i.e. READ MORE
