16. Studies of the chromatin form of yeast Mediator and the function of its tail module
Abstract : Mediator is a large, multifunctional complex that is conserved in eukaryotes. It was first discovered in Saccharomyces cerevisiaeas required for transcriptional activators to function in a reconstituted in vitro system. Mediator is also important for stimulation of basal, unregulated transcription, and transcriptional repression. READ MORE

17. Query Processing for Peer Mediator Databases
Abstract : The ability to physically interconnect many distributed, autonomous and heterogeneous software systems on a large scale presents new opportunities for sharing and reuse of existing, and for the creataion of new information and new computational services. However, finding and combining information in many such systems is a challenge even for the most advanced computer users. READ MORE

18. Studies of Electrocatalytic Reactions of NADH at Mediator Modified Electrodes and of H2O2 at Peroxidase Modified Electrodes
Abstract : This thesis addresses: (1) studies of direct and mediated electron transfer and kinetics of peroxidases on electrodes and the development of amperometric peroxidase-based biosenors, (2) electrochemical and kinetic studies of NADH oxidation at mediator modified electrodes. The direct and mediated electron transfer of horseradish and tobacco peroxidase were investigated on graphite electrodes by using wall-jet electrode methodology. READ MORE

19. HMBG1 as a proinflammatory mediator in arthritis
Abstract : Proinflammatory cytokines are central in the pathogenesis of chronic arthritis and a new generation of therapeutics blocking TNF or IL-1 has improved outcome for many patients with inflammatory joint diseases. This thesis addresses the role of HMGB1 (High Mobility Group Box Chromosomal protein 1) in inflammation and as a potential novel therapeutic target molecule in arthritis. READ MORE

20. Structure and function of the yeast mediator tail domain
Abstract : Mediator is a co-regulator complex that transduces regulatory information from activators and repressors to the RNA polymerase 11 transcription machinery. Mediator was originally discovered in Saccharomyces cerevisiae and since then Mediator-like complexes have been isolated in a number of organisms including mammals. S. READ MORE
