12. Medical devices in Sweden : Industrial structure, production and foreign trade 1985-2002
Abstract : This licentiate thesis uses descriptive, mainly official,Swedish statistics to analyse industrial structure, productionand foreign trade in an industry that is traditionallydifficult to describe in numbers, that of medical devices. Forthe purposes of the thesis, the Swedish Medical Device industryis defined as companies classified in the SE-SIC manufacturingcodes 33101 (medical equipment and instruments, etc), 33102(dental products) and 35430 (invalid vehicles). 13. High-temperature superconducting magnetometers for on-scalp MEG
Abstract : In the growing field of on-scalp magnetoencephalography (MEG), brain activity is studied by non-invasively mapping the magnetic fields generated by neuronal currents with sensors that are flexibly placed in close proximity to the subject's head. This thesis focuses on high-temperature superconducting magnetometers made from YBa2Cu3Ox-7 (YBCO), which enables a reduction in the sensor-to-room temperature standoff distance from roughly 2 cm (for conventional MEG systems) down to 1 mm. 14. Practical Implementation of Quality Assurance Guidelines for Hyperthermia Therapy
Abstract : Hyperthermia therapy (HT) has been proven to be a potent enhancer of chemotherapy and radiotherapy in numerous clinical trials. The effectiveness of HT is strictly dependent on the administered thermal dose, which, in turn, is dependent on the quality of the therapeutic heat applied to the patient. READ MORE

15. Minimally Invasive Catheter-Based Technologies
Abstract : A simple incision procedure in a blood vessel makes the entire vascular system accessible. Through contrast injection and X-ray visualization, the vascular tree can be mapped and navigated through manual manipulation of thin tubes and wires. READ MORE
