21. Large scale integration and interactive exploration of cancer data – with applications to glioblastoma
Abstract : Glioblastoma is the most common malignant brain tumor, with a median survival of approximately 15 months. The standard of care treatment consists of surgical resection followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy, where chemotherapy only prolongs survival by approximately 3 months. READ MORE

22. The ADAPT scaffold as a tool for diagnostic imaging and targeted therapy
Abstract : Molecular recognition, or the specific interactions between a protein and its ligand, is central to biology and a key factor for many different clinical and technical applications. Despite antibodies being only one of many different affinity proteins, it has by far been the most successful. READ MORE

23. Theoretical studies of Membrane Proteins : Properties, Prediction Methods and Genome-wide analysis
Abstract : Membrane proteins are a large and important class of proteins. They are responsible for several of the key functions in a living cell, e.g. transport of nutrients and ions, cell-cell signaling, and cell-cell adhesion. READ MORE

24. Characterization and Energy Calibration of a Silicon-Strip Detector for Photon-Counting Spectral Computed Tomography
Abstract : Multibin photon-counting x-ray detectors are promising candidates to be applied in next generation computed tomography (CT), whereby energy information from a broad x-ray spectrum can be extracted and properly used for improving image quality and correspondingly reducing radiation dose. A silicon-strip detector has been developed for spectral CT, which operates in photon-counting mode and allows pulse-height discrimination with 8 adjustable energy bins. READ MORE

25. A Multidimensional Filtering Framework with Applications to Local Structure Analysis and Image Enhancement
Abstract : Filtering is a fundamental operation in image science in general and in medical image science in particular. The most central applications are image enhancement, registration, segmentation and feature extraction. READ MORE
