    Author : Joakim Karlsson; Håkan Prof.; Mikael Bäckström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Additive Manufacturing; 3D-printing; Electron Beam Melting; Titanium alloys; Chemical properties; Mechanical properties; Surface properties; Additiv tillverkning; 3D-skrivare; Electron Beam Melting; Titan; Kemiska egenskaper; Mekaniska egenskaper; Ytegenskaper; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot materialvetenskap; Engineering Science with specialization in Materials Science;

    Abstract : Additive manufacturing (AM), also called 3D-printing, are technologies where parts are formed from the bottom up by adding material layer-by-layer on top of each other. Electron Beam Melting (EBM) is an AM technique capable of manufacturing fully solid metallic parts, using a high-intensity electron beam to melt powder particles in layers to form finished components. 3. 8. Rheology and UV-curing of a star-branched polyester

    Author : Hans Claesson; KTH; []
    Keywords : Powder coating; UV-curing; star-polymer; gel point; alipahtic polyester; rheology; dendritic;

    Abstract : The use of powder coatings has increased steadily over thelast few decades. Their popularity is due to a number of majoradvantages they offer when compared to solvent-borne systems.Near zero VOC-content, reduced energy consumption and near 100%utilisation of the material are some of the advantages. 4. 9. Chemical Properties of FBC Ashes

    Author : Britt-Marie Steenari; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; straw ash; environmental impact of ash handling; sintering; deposits; fouling; wood ash recycling; FBC; ash leaching; ash chemistry; PFBC; forest fertiliser; ash hydration reactions; fuel additives; wood ash characteristics; CaS; ash melting; plant nutrient recycling;

    Abstract : In this thesis several aspects of ash chemistry are discussed. An issue of primary concern for boiler operators is the formation of ash deposits. New biomass fuels are introduced, many of which have unfavourable ash melting behaviour due to high levels of alkali metal species and chlorine. READ MORE

  5. 10. Atomistic Computer Simulations of Melting, Diffusion and Thermal Defects in High Pressure Solids

    Author : Sergio Davis; Anatoly Belonoshko; Börje Johansson; Leonid Zhigilei; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : The present work describes the use of atomistic computer simulations in the area of Condensed Matter Physics, and speci cally its application to the study of two problems: the dynamics of the melting phase transition and the properties of materials at extremely high pressures and temperatures, problems which defy experimental measurements and purely analytical calculations. A good sampling of techniques including classical and rst-principles Molecular Dynamics, and Metropolis Monte Carlo simulation have been applied in this study. READ MORE
