21. Magnetic relaxation studies of self-associating and membrane proteins
Abstract : Magnetic relaxation dispersion measurements have been performed on aqueous protein solutions to study the dynamics of waters in the proton transport channel of bacteriorhodopsin and the self-association of the proteins BPTI, lysozyme and beta-lactoglobulin. The measurements have focused on the bulk relaxation rates, R1 and R2, of three water nuclei 1H, 2H and 17O that are coupled to the protein environments by exchange and therefore report on properties such as the protein tumbling and dynamics of internal waters. 22. Selective extraction systems for detection and purification of membrane proteins
Abstract : Increased understanding of membrane proteins is important for characterization of biochemical processes. Improved membrane protein isolation methods is a key issue for effective functional and structural determination of the large amount of unknown membrane proteins. READ MORE

23. Perfusion Chromatography of membrane proteins
Abstract : According to genomics up to 40% of all eukaryotic proteins are membrane bound. Their isolation from the biomembrane is essential for structural and functional studies. The major task in membrane protein isolation is obtaining a pure and homogeneous population, while maintaining biological activity, native conformation, and keeping cofactors bound. READ MORE

24. Theoretical studies of Membrane Proteins : Properties, Prediction Methods and Genome-wide analysis
Abstract : Membrane proteins are a large and important class of proteins. They are responsible for several of the key functions in a living cell, e.g. transport of nutrients and ions, cell-cell signaling, and cell-cell adhesion. READ MORE

25. Downstream Processing Using Membrane Technology
Abstract : Membrane filtration is a very gentle separation technique and can be used at low temperatures. This makes it suitable for liquids that contain micro-organisms and/or are heat sensitive, which is often the case in liquids processed in the field of biotechnology. READ MORE
