  1. 11. Memory System Design for Chip-Multiprocessors

    Author : Martin Karlsson; Erik Hagersten; Mikko Lipasti; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : The continued decrease in transistor size and the increasing delay of wires relative to transistor switching speeds led to the development of chip multiprocessors (CMPs). The introduction of CMPs presents new challenges and trade-offs to computer architects. READ MORE

  2. 12. From Pioneers to Target Group : Social Change, Ethnicity and Memory in a Lithuanian Nuclear Power Plant Community

    Author : Kristina Sliavaite; Sociologiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Ignalina nuclear power plant; Deindustrialization; post-socialism; East Central Europe; ethnicity; collective memory; social change; Russian speaking population; decline; modernization; migration; enclave; risk; social insecurity; uncertainty; national insurance; Social problems and welfare; Cultural anthropology; ethnology; Sociala problem; migration; risk; social välfärd; socialförsäkring; Kulturantropologi; etnologi;

    Abstract : This thesis focused on an examination of human agency and strategies for responding to rapid social and economic change. Fieldwork was carried out in the community of Visaginas town that was built during the Soviet period in Lithuania. The town is situated next to the Ignalina nuclear power plant. READ MORE

  3. 13. Immune cells in pregnant uterine mucosa : functional properties, cellular composition and tissue organization

    Author : Lucia Mincheva-Nilsson; Sten Hammarström; Rolf Kiessling; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; immunologically privileged site; TCR γδ cells; CD56 cells; large granular lymphocytes; immunosuppression; cytokine; interleukin; lymphoid cell cluster; intraepithelial lymphocytes; glandular epithelium; immuno electron microscopy; pregnancy; decidua; lactoferrin; lactoferrin receptor; colostrum;

    Abstract : The pregnant uterus mucosa - decidua - is an "immunologically privileged" site. A semiallogeneic embryo is allowed to survive, develop, and grow while the same tissue implanted outside the uterus will be rejected. The decidua basalis, which participates in the placenta formation, is a tissue rich in lymphoid cells. READ MORE

  4. 14. The Epigenetics of Gene Transcription and Higher Order Chromatin Conformation

    Author : Vijay Kumar Tiwari; Rolf Ohlsson; Terumi Kohwi-Shigematsu; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Developmental biology; DNA-protein interactions; Nuclear organization; Transcriptional regulation; Higher order chromatin conformations; Epigenetic reprogramming; Utvecklingsbiologi; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi;

    Abstract : It is becoming increasingly clear that long-range control of gene expression is mediated through direct physical interactions between genes and regulatory elements, either intra- or interchromosomally. In addition to transcriptional initiation, formation of active chromatin hubs seem to be crucial for increased transcriptional efficiency as well as insulation from neighbouring heterochromatic environment. 5. 15. Advancing Automation in Digital Forensic Investigations

    Author : Irvin Homem; Panagiotis Papapetrou; Fredrik Blix; Indre Žliobaitė; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Digital Forensics; Machine Learning; Computer Forensics; Network Forensics; Predictive Modelling; Distributed Systems; Mobile Devices; Mobile Forensics; Memory Forensics; Android; Semantic Web; Hypervisors; Virtualization; Remote Acquisition; Evidence Analysis; Correlation; P2P; Bittorrent; Computer and Systems Sciences; data- och systemvetenskap;

    Abstract : Digital Forensics is used to aid traditional preventive security mechanisms when they fail to curtail sophisticated and stealthy cybercrime events. The Digital Forensic Investigation process is largely manual in nature, or at best quasi-automated, requiring a highly skilled labour force and involving a sizeable time investment. READ MORE
