1. Transport of Mercury Species in the Environment. Exchange between Oceanic Waters and the Atmosphere
Abstract : Mercury is an element present in the earth crust as well as a component in the atmosphere. During centuries mercury has been released by natural sources, e.g. volcanic eruptions, evasion from water surfaces and degassing from soil. READ MORE

2. Mercury cycling in the global marine environment
Abstract : Mercury is a globally distributed contaminant that exists in the atmosphere in its elemental form as a stable monoatomic gas. Having a residence time of around one year in air allows it to be transported far from emission sources and end up in polar ecosystems. READ MORE

3. Laser spectroscopic analysis of atmospheric gases in scattering media
Abstract : Laser spectroscopic techniques for gas analysis under various influences of light scattering are explored in a wide spectral range from the ultraviolet to the infrared. The techniques rely on spectrally narrow-band light sources that are used in differential optical absorption measurements. READ MORE

4. Thermal Conductivity of Materials under Conditions of Planetary Interiors
Abstract : The presented thesis focuses on study of transport and thermoelastic properties of materials under conditions of planetary interiors by means of high-pressure experimental tools and finite element modeling, and their role in the dynamics and states of cores of terrestrial planets. Experiments in laser-heated diamond anvil cell (LHDAC) in combination with numerical simulations of heat transfer in DAC are shown to yield information on thermal conductivity of a pressurized sample. 5. Development of laser spectroscopy for scattering media applications
Abstract : Laser spectroscopy for both large and small spatial scales has been developed and used in various applications ranging from remote monitoring of atmospheric mercury in Spain to investigation of oxygen contents in wood, human sinuses, fruit, and pharmaceutical solids. Historically, the lidar group in Lund has performed many differential absorption lidar (DIAL) measurements with a mobile lidar system that was first described in 1987. READ MORE
