  1. 1. Metal Affinity Peptides in Biotechnological Applications As tools in protein purification, protein stabilisation, metal quantification and metal tolerance of bacteria and plants

    Author : Malin Mejàre; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cadmium; metal quantification; fusion tag; metal affinity tag; phage display; peptide library; metal tolerance; metal resistance; metal accumulation; bioremediation; transgenic plant; tobacco; potato; protein purification; immobilised metal affinity chromatography; metal affinity precipitation; metal detection; protein stabilisation; Bioteknik; Biotechnology; Biokemi; Metabolism; Biochemistry; metal ion;

    Abstract : Metal affinity tags have been fused to proteins and demonstrated to function as tools in protein purification, protein stabilisation, quantitative metal analysis and metal tolerance of bacteria and plants. In biotechnological applications proteins frequently have to function in nonnatural environments with harsh conditions which impose requirements for high stability on the proteins. READ MORE

  2. 2. Making Metal Making : Circulation and Workshop Practices in the Swedish Metal Trades, 1730–1775

    Author : Måns Jansson; Göran Rydén; Göran Ulväng; Karel Davids; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; metal trades; eighteenth century; knowledge; skills; circulation; strategies; tactics; cutlery; manufacturing; division of labour; Ekonomisk historia; Economic History;

    Abstract : This dissertation is concerned with the making of metal making. It explores how skills, knowledge, and artefacts were circulated and grounded within the Swedish metal trades during the period ca. 1730 to 1775. It also analyses how these processes were related to different ways of organising practices of work. READ MORE

  3. 3. Vibrations in Metal Cutting : Measurement, Analysis and Reduction

    Author : Linus Pettersson; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Vibration and noise in metal cutting are ubiquitous problems in the workshop. The turning operation is one kind of metal cutting that exhibits vibration related problems. Today the industry aims at smaller tolerances in surface finish. Harder regulations in terms of the noise levels in the operator environment are also central. READ MORE

  4. 4. Numerical Modelling and Analysis of Orthogonal Metal Cutting

    Author : Mathias Agmell; Industriell Produktion; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Metal Cutting; Finite Element Method; Deformation Zones; Sub-surface Deformation; Tool Stress; Inverse Analysis; Kalman Filter; Minimum Chip Thickness;

    Abstract : Most components in use in our society have undergone a machining process at some stage within its manufacturing cycle. As a result, the economics of the machining process plays an important role in the manufacturing costs. READ MORE

  5. 5. Transport in Oxides Studied by Gas Phase Analysis

    Author : Qian Dong; Gunnar Hultquist; W.J. Quadakkers; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Gas Phase Analysis; metal; oxide; platinum; vitreous silica; yttria stabilized zirconia; diatomic gas; oxidation; dissociation; permeation; uptake release.; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : The transport in oxides is studied by the use of gas phase analysis (GPA). An experimental method to identify transported species of gases and their contribution to the overall transport of gases in oxides and an experimental method to evaluate the parameters diffusivity, concentration, permeability of gases in oxides and effective pore size in oxides are developed, respectively.
