21. Nanoplasmonics for solar cells
Abstract : The main source of our energy system, the fossil fuels, will eventually be depleted and also pose environmental and climate hazards. There is thus a need for alternative, renewable energy sources. Solar (photovoltaic) cells will play an important role as one of them. READ MORE

22. Neutron spectroscopy studies of vibrational and diffusional dynamics in organometal halide and oxyhydride perovskites
Abstract : This thesis deals with inelastic and quasielastic neutron scattering studies on the dynamical properties of the organometal halide perovskite system MA1-xFAxPbI3 (MA = methylammonium; FA = formamidinium) and of the layered perovskite-type oxyhydride SrVO2H. These materials systems are of high interest for their excellent photovoltaic performance (MA1-xFAxPbI3) and hydride-ion conductivity (SrVO2H) and concomitant promise for various technological devices; however, the local structure and dynamics underpinning these materials properties remain unclear. 23. Interrogating Diffusional Mass and Charge Transport in Catalytic Metal-Organic Frameworks
Abstract : Molecular catalysts are efficient and selective for the electrochemical conversion of small molecules for energy conversion. Application of molecular species in a large-scale industrial setting requires stabilization in a heterogeneous support material. READ MORE

24. Extraction of Metal Values : Thermodynamics of Electrolyte Solutions and Molten Salts Extraction Process
Abstract : Over the past centuries, a number of process routes for extraction of metal values from an ore or other resources have been developed. These can generally be classifiedinto pyrometallurgical, hydrometallurgical or electrometallurgical routes. READ MORE

25. Conducting Polymers Containing In-Chain Metal Centres : Electropolymerisation and Charge Transport
Abstract : Conjugated polymers that exhibit high electronic conductivities play key roles in the emerging field of molecular electronics. In particular, linking metal centres with useful electrochemical, photophysical, or catalytic properties to the backbone, or within the polymer chain itself, is a topic which has attracted a significant amount of interest lately.
