  1. 1. Catalytic Incineration of CO and VOC Emissions over Supported Metal Oxide Catalysts

    Author : Per-Olof Larsson; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Titania; Ceria; Manganese oxide; Copper oxide; VOC; CO; Ethanol; Ethyl acetate; Metal oxide catalysts; Catalytic combustion; Catalytic incineration; Alumina.; Chemical technology and engineering; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi; Fysicumarkivet A:1999:Larsson;

    Abstract : Catalytic incineration is one of the methods to reduce the emissions of CO and VOCs. Low operation temperature and low catalyst cost are essential parameters for catalytic incinerators. Pt/Al2O3 catalysts are frequently used today, but the cheaper metal oxide catalysts can be very competitive if comparable overall activity is obtained. READ MORE

  2. 2. Chemically Modified Metal Oxide Nanostructures Electrodes for Sensing and Energy Conversion

    Author : Sami Elhag; Omer Nour; Magnus Willander; Alberta Bonanni; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Metal oxide nanostructures; mixed metal oxide nano-compound; low temperature wet-chemical growth; chemically modified electrode; doping; surfactant; potentiometric sensor; chemical sensor and photo-electrochemical activity;

    Abstract : The goal of this thesis is the development of scalable, low cost synthesis of metal oxide nanostructures based electrodes and to correlate the chemical modifications with their energy conversion performance. Methods in energy conversion in this thesis have focused on two aspects; a potentiometric chemical sensor was used to determine the analytical concentration of some components of the analyte solution such as dopamine, glucose and glutamate molecules. 3. 3. Nanostructured Metal Oxide Semiconductors for Functional Applications

    Author : Anton Landström; Isabella Concina; Alberto Vomiero; Caterina Soldano; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Experimentell fysik; Experimental Physics;

    Abstract : This thesis is about nanostructured metal oxides, their properties, and some of their applications. Semiconducting metal oxides like TiO2, ZnO,and SnO2 have a wide band gap, which means they absorb UV light andgenerate electron-hole pairs. READ MORE

  4. 4. Reducing Alkali Chloride-Induced High Temperature Corrosion by Sulphur Containing Additives – A Combined Laboratory and Field Study

    Author : Sofia Karlsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sulphur; Stainless Steels; Additives; Biomass; Waste; High Temperature Corrosion; Alkali Chlorides; Co-combustion;

    Abstract : In order to achieve a more sustainable society renewable fuels such as biomass and waste are attractive alternatives to fossil fuels for power production. However, fireside corrosion is a serious concern in boilers combusting biomass or waste. The high corrosion rates are often linked to large amounts of alkali chlorides in the flue gas. READ MORE

  5. 5. The Microstructure of Metal Oxide Additive Silicon Nitride Ceramics

    Author : Maria Knutson Wedel; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; microstructure; SEM; HIP; TEM; ZrO2; Si3N4;

    Abstract : This work is concerned with Si3N4 ceramics fabricated with different metal oxide additives, viz. Y2O3, Al2O3, ZrO2 and ZrO2(+3 mol% Y2O3), which have been densified by hot isostatic pressing (HIP). READ MORE
