  1. 1. Metal-Organic Complexes at Surfaces

    Author : Cristina Isvoranu; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; x-ray absorption spectroscopy; x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy; bi-isonicotinic acid; oxalic acid; spin change; gas adsorption; metal-organic complex; iron phthalocyanine; scanning tunneling spectroscopy; resonant photoemission spectroscopy;

    Abstract : The adsorption of different metal-organic complexes at surfaces was investigated by spectroscopic techniques (x-ray photoemission spectroscopy, x-ray absorption spectroscopy, resonant photoemission spectroscopy) and by scanning tunnelling microscopy. The investigation methods are able to provide atomic scale information on the studied systems, which moreover originates from the top-most atomic layers in a sample, meaning that they are surface sensitive techniques. 2. 2. Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) for Heterogeneous Catalysis : Synthesis and Characterization

    Author : Mikaela Gustafsson; Xiaodong Zou; Pascal Van Der Voort; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; metal-organic frameworks; zeolitic imidazolate frameworks; functionalized linkers; structural transformation; heterogeneous catalysis; Structural Chemistry; strukturkemi;

    Abstract : Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are crystalline hybrid materials with interesting chemical and physical properties. This thesis is focused on the synthesis and characterization of different MOFs and their use in heterogeneous catalysis. READ MORE

  3. 3. Mimicking the Outer Coordination Sphere in [FeFe]-Hydrogenase Active Site Models : From Extended Ligand Design to Metal-Organic Frameworks

    Author : Sonja Pullen; Sascha Ott; Patrick L. Holland; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; [FeFe]-hydrogenases; outer coordination sphere; model complexes; biomimetic catalysis; artificial photosynthesis; metal-organic frameworks;

    Abstract : Biomimetic catalysis is an important research field, as a better understanding of nature´s powerful toolbox for the conversion of molecules can lead to technological progress. [FeFe]-hydrogenases are very efficient catalysts for hydrogen production. These enzymes play a crucial role in the metabolism of green algae and certain cyanobacteria. READ MORE

    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; X-ray diffraction; transmission electron microscopy; framework materials; porous materials; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : Inorganic and metal-organic framework materials possessing accessible and permanent pores are receiving tremendous attention. Among them, zeolites are the most famous class due to their wide applications on petrochemistry and gas separation. READ MORE

  5. 5. Lanthanide Metal-Organic Frameworks and Hierarchical Porous Zeolitic Imidazolate Frameworks : Synthesis, Properties, and Applications

    Author : Hani Nasser Abdelhamid; Xiaodong Zou; Belén Martín-Matute; Banglin Chen; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Metal-organic frameworks; Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks; Lanthanide MOFs; Hierarchical porous ZIFs; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis presents the synthesis, properties, and applications of two important classes of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs); lanthanide MOFs and hierarchical porous zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs). The materials have been characterized using a wide range of techniques including diffraction, imaging, various spectroscopic techniques, gas sorption, dynamical light scattering (DLS) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).
