16. Multimode resonant X-ray scattering of free molecules
Abstract : This thesis is focused on the role that nuclear dynamics plays in the formation of X-ray absorption (XAS) and resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) spectra of multimode free molecules. A combined approach based on ab initio electronic structure methods and quantum nuclear wave packet dynamics is applied to two systems -- water and methanol in the gas phase. READ MORE

17. Optical and laser diagnostics : The versatility of Imaging
Abstract : Optical and laser diagnostics is a field where optical techniques are developed that offer remote, non-intrusive measurements in order to characterise a system. Imaging is a big part of this field and the versatility it offers makes it a great tool in the hands of researchers and in practical applications. READ MORE

18. Photosynthetic Oxygen Evolution - EPR studies of the manganese cluster of photosystem II
Abstract : In this thesis, a new electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) signal from photosystem II is presented. The signal is shown to originate from the S0 oxidation state of the oxygen-evolving complex (OEC). READ MORE

19. Investigation of PPC in an Optical Engine : With focus on Fuel Distribution and Combustion Characterization
Abstract : The global society is dependent on transportation to function and a big part of these transports are driven by an internal combustion engine. Heavy-duty vehicles utilizes conventional diesel combustion is a combustion concept where the fuel is often ignited during the injection event and while it gives a high combustion efficiency, the combustion mode is also characterized by high emission of NOx and soot. 20. Rational bioenergy utilisation in energy systems and impacts on CO2emissions
Abstract : The increased concentration of greenhouse gases in theatmosphere, in particular CO2, is changing the Earths climate. Accordingto the Kyoto protocol, where the international community agreedon binding emission targets, developed countries are committedto reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. READ MORE
