1. Investigation of Some Heat Transfer Surfaces for Gas Turbine Recuperators
Abstract : A part of this thesis has been devoted to present general recuperator technology such as available gas turbine recuperator types, applications where recuperators are utilized, recuperator materials etc. An investigation of some compact and highly efficient heat transfer surfaces, for intended use in gas turbine recuperators, include the following surfaces: · Cross Wavy (CW) primary surface. 2. Controlling infiltration when brazing P/M parts and during manufacture of aluminium metal matrix composites
Abstract : Infiltration is used in the production of several different material groups as electric contact materials, copper infiltrated sintered steels and metal matrix composites. The mechanism of infiltration causes also unwanted difficulties in processing as brazing of porous sintered compacts. READ MORE

3. Database technology for control and simulation
Abstract : This thesis shows how modern database technology can improve data management in engineering applications. It is divided into four parts. The first part reviews modern database technology with respect to engineering applications. The second part addresses data management in control applications. READ MORE

4. The Influence of Composition and Hot Processes on Heat Affected Zone and Weld Metal Behavior and Mechnacal Properties of Ti Grade 5 and Stainless Steel
Abstract : This thesis discusses on results of experiments carried outwith austenitic, duplex and super duplex stainless steels andTi-6Al-4V. In these it has been seen that the heat cycle duringwelding or weld simulation has a great effect on the propertiesof thematerials. READ MORE

5. Closed-die forging and slab hot rolling with focus on material yield : some industrial problems analysed by FEM
Abstract : The thesis is focussed on improving the material yield in closed-die forging and rolling. The former is restricted to the manufacturing of heavy crown wheels and front axle beams and the latter to the hot rolling of steel slabs. To enhance the yield the commercial FE-codes Form2D and Dyna3D are used. READ MORE
