1. Surface Sampling and Automated Liquid Membrane Extraction of Fungicides
Abstract : A number of approaches for fungicide determination are presented. A surface sampling technique is utilised for the determination of fungicide foliar residues on greenhouse surfaces, mainly leaves. The procedure is based on solvation of the fungicides on the leaf surface with ethanol and HPLC analysis. READ MORE

2. On-line Sample Pretreatment Based on Membrane Enrichment, Mainly Using Supported Liquid Membranes, for Chromatographic Analysis
Abstract : The main objective of this work was to construct practical analytical systems for the analysis of environmental and biological samples, using membrane-based techniques for sample pretreatment and chromatography for final analysis. Two types of membrane processes have been applied, with emphasis on automation. READ MORE

3. Miniaturized, Membrane-Based and Environmentally Green Sample Preparation Systems: Applications for Biological and Environmental Aqueous Samples
Abstract : Contemporary advancements in miniaturization of analytical systems have advantageously fostered development, automation, and hyphenation of a variety of sample preparation techniques. Among several downscaled extraction designs, porous synthetic polymeric membranes (such as flat sheet (FS) or hollow fiber (HF)) have been utilized for membrane-based extraction, separating two aqueous phases (as in supported liquid membrane (SLM) extraction or one aqueous phase and another organic phase (as in microporous membrane liquid-liquid extraction (MMLLE)). 4. Liquid Membrane Techniques for Trace Metal Analysis and Speciation in Environmental and Biological Matrices
Abstract : In this thesis, liquid-membrane-based methods for the analysis of trace metal species in samples of environmental and biological origin were developed. By incorporating extracting reagents in the membrane liquid, trace metal ions were selectively separated from humic-rich natural waters and urine samples, prior to their determination using various instrumental techniques.
