11. Studies on Retinal Circulation in Experimental Animals, Healthy Human Eyes and Eyes with Diabetic Retinopathy
Abstract : The retina is a highly metabolically active tissue with large demands on the supply of nutrients. Disorders affecting the retina often include some vasculopathy with an impact on retinal circulation. READ MORE

12. The cochlear blood flow : an experimental study of control mechanisms and pharmacological effects using the laser Doppler and the microsphere surface methods
Abstract : .... READ MORE

13. From Starch to Starch Microspheres. Formation of an Ordered Structure during Processing
Abstract : Starch microsphere is a dosage form suitable for the encapsulation of protein drugs. The starch microspheres investigated in this thesis are intended for release of the drug in a pre-designed way, or in controlled manner. READ MORE

14. Testicular blood flow : methodological and functional studies in the rat
Abstract : Different methods of measuring testicular blood flow in the rat were compared in an attempt to find an accurate method for measuring physiological testicular blood flow. It was found that both the Xenon- 133 clearance technique and the radioactive microsphere technique probably reflect true physiological blood flow in the testis. READ MORE

15. Effects on cardiac output distribution of propranolol, verapamil and epidural blockade during continuous positive-pressure ventilation : An experimental study in the pig
Abstract : The blood perfusion of all body regions is governed by local vasoregulation, and systemic humoral and neural impulses provide additional tuning of vascular tone. Is the regulation of circulation centralised or, in other words, is the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) superior to local autoregulation of the perfusion of vital organs? Using the microsphere method and acquired data on the body composition of the pig, it was possible to interpret the absolute distribution of cardiac output (CO) and flux changes between organs and tissues.
