  1. 1. High performing cast aluminium-silicon alloys

    Author : Martin Riestra; Salem Seifeddine; Ehsan Ghassemali; Jessica Elfsberg; Högskolan i Jönköping; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Aluminium cast alloys; melt quality; eutectic modification; grain refinement; microstructure; tensile properties;

    Abstract : The need to produce lighter components due to environmental aspects and the development of electrical vehicles represents an opportunity for cast aluminium-silicon alloys. With high specific strength, good castability, high corrosion resistance and recyclability, these alloys offer an attractive combination of properties as an alternative to steel, cast iron and titanium-based components in certain applications. 2. 2. High volumetric machining strategies for superalloy gasturbine components : Comparing conventional and nonconventional machining methods for efficient manufacturing

    Author : Jonas Holmberg; Johan Berglund; Anders Wretland; Tomas Beno; Joel Andersson; Sten Johansson; RISE; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Alloy 718; High volumetric machining; Conventional and Nonconventional machining; Material removal rate; Post processing; surface integrity; Residual stress; Microstructure; Deformation; Manufacturing; Surface and Joining Technology; Bearbetnings-; yt- och fogningsteknik; Production Technology; Produktionsteknik;

    Abstract : There is a strong industrial driving force to find alternative manufacturing technologies in order to make the production of aero engine components of superalloys even more efficient than it is today. Introducing new and nonconventional machining technologies, as well as enhanced utilisation of today's high volumetric manufacturing, allows taking a leap to increase the material removal rate and the productivity. Abstract : This thesis is devoted to microstructure modelling of Ti-6Al-4V. The microstructure and the mechanical properties of titanium alloys are highly dependent on the temperature history experienced by the material. The developed microstructure model accounts for thermaldriving forces and is applicable for general temperature histories. READ MORE

  4. 4. Microstructure and Thermal Conductivity of Liquid Feedstock Plasma Sprayed Thermal Barrier Coatings

    Author : Ashish Ganvir; Nicolaie Markocsan; Per Nylén; Ru Lin Peng; Högskolan Väst; []
