1. Metamorphism in the roots of mountain belts and its effect on rock technical properties : A case study of the Eastern Segment, Sveconorwegian orogen
Abstract : Deciphering the metamorphic evolution of the roots of mountain belts is essential for understanding deep tectonic processes involved in mountain building. The Sveconorwegian orogen in southwestern Scandinavia, formed during the Rodinia assembly in the transition between the Mesoproterozoic and Neoproterozoic Eras, has been exhumed and provides access to interior deep structural levels of the ancient mountain belt. 2. Metamorphic zircon formation in gabbroic rocks – the tale of microtextures
Abstract : Dating of metamorphic events is crucial for the understanding and reconstruction of large-scale geological processes such as orogenesis. Zircon is one of the most commonly used minerals for dating of igneous and metamorphic events. Zircon incorporates uranium and excludes lead during crystallization, and with time the uranium decays to lead. READ MORE

3. Getting a Feel for Tactile Space : Exploring Haptic Perception of Microtexture
Abstract : The present thesis is based on three studies that research different aspects of fine texture perception. The goal is to better understand the mechanisms involved in haptic perception of textures below 200 µm, also known as microtextures. READ MORE

4. The Mesoproterozoic Hallandian event - a region-scale orogenic event in the Fennoscandian Shield
Abstract : The Sveconorwegian Province occupies the southwestern part of the Fennoscandian Shield. The easternmost tectonic unit of the Province is the 1710-1660 Ma parautochthonous Eastern Segment, which bears the imprint of at least two metamorphic events; the 1460-1380 Ma Hallandian and the 1150-970 Ma Sveconorwegian.
