6. CMOS High Frequency Circuits for Spin Torque Oscillator Technology
Abstract : Spin torque oscillator (STO) technology has a unique blend of features, including but not limited to octave tunability, GHz operating frequency, and nanoscaled size, which makes it highly suitable for microwave and radar applications. This thesis studies the fundamentals of STOs, utilizes the state-of-art STO's advantages, and proposes two STO-based microwave systems targeting its microwave applications and measurement setup, respectively. 7. Spin Torque Oscillator Modeling, CMOS Design and STO-CMOS Integration
Abstract : Spin torque oscillators (STOs) are microwave oscillators with an attractive blend of features, including a more-than-octave tunability, GHz operating frequencies, nanoscale size, nanosecond switching speed and full compatibility with CMOS technology. Over the past decade, STOs' physical phenomena have been explored to a greater extent, their performance has been further improved, and STOs have already shown great potential for a wide range of applications, from microwave sources and detectors to neuromorphic computing. 8. Microwave CMOS LNAs and VCOs - Using Passives On-Chip, Above Chip, and Off-Chip
Abstract : The performance of LNAs and VCOs is of large importance to the complete wireless communications system. To achieve sufficient performance in microwave applications, LNAs and VCOs have therefore up to now mostly been manufactured in advanced and expensive semiconductor technologies. READ MORE

9. Integrated Variable-Gain and CMOS Millimeter-Wave Amplifiers
Abstract : Variable Gain Amplifier finds extensive use in the high frequency demonstrators specially those operating in the millimeter-wave regions and beyond where the incoming RF signal level can have wide variations. To maintain a constant signal level an IF VGA has been designed that can offer a dynamic variation of gain as much as 45 dB together with a high maximum gain and a low noise figure. READ MORE

10. Design and Characterization of MMIC IF VGA and Small Signal CMOS Millimeter Wave Amplifiers
Abstract : The main aim of this work is to demonstrate the easibility of designing and characterizing monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) variable gain amplifiers (VGA) and small signal amplifiers in III-V (GaAs) and 90 nm CMOS technologies, respectively. The VGA is studied at the IFfrequency of 2. READ MORE
