7. From Polysaccharides to Functional Materials for Trace Pharmaceutical Adsorption
Abstract : The transition to bioeconomy will reduce our dependency on fossil fuels as well as contribute to a more sustainable society. Within this framework, exploitation and development of renewable substitutes to petroleum-based products provides feasible roadmap for the material design. READ MORE

8. Cyclotides evolve : Studies on their natural distribution, structural diversity, and activity
Abstract : The cyclotides are a family of naturally occurring peptides characterized by cyclic cystine knot (CCK) structural motif, which comprises a cyclic head-to-tail backbone featuring six conserved cysteine residues that form three disulfide bonds. This unique structural motif makes cyclotides exceptionally resistant to chemical, thermal and enzymatic degradation. READ MORE

9. Enols and Allylic Alcohols as Building Blocks in Synthetic Organic Chemistry : Experimental and Theoretical Studies
Abstract : The present thesis describes computational and experimental studies used to drive the reactivity of allylic and enol substrates towards new transformations. These synthetic methods give access to a number of organic molecules that may serve as important moieties in synthetic organic chemistry. READ MORE

10. Synthesis and [3,3]-Sigmatropic Rearrangement of Vinylaziridines
Abstract : A general synthetic route from vinylepoxides to vinylaziridines via 1,2-amino alcohols was developed. The 1,2-amino alcohols were obtained from a stereospecific and regioselective aminolysis of vinylepoxides. The synthetic scope of the aminolysis could be expanded by the use of a microwave-assisted protocol. READ MORE
