    Abstract : All three essays in this thesis are concerned with the interrelation of family, gender and labour market outcomes. The first paper investigates family earnings mobility between parents and sons, and parents and daughters, highlighting the role of assortative mating. Research framework: A set of standardised strategies for TB control advocated by the World Health Organisation and the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases is used as a framework to analyse private and public providers' ability to deliver care of adequate quality.     Abstract : The senses of hearing and equilibrium are highly dependent on the fluid and electrolyte homeostasis in the inner ear.
