    Abstract : A better understanding of the relationship between ionising radiation (IR) dose, dose rate and radiation quality, and the risk of stochastic effects would improve risk extrapolation from atomic bomb survivors’ data. Owing to insufficient statistical power of epidemiological studies to detect excess incidence of cancer following low doses of IR delivered at low dose rates (LDLDR), as typically encountered in most common human exposure scenarios, radiobiological experiments are fundamental to describe the biological effectiveness of LDLDR and to define the underlying molecular mechanisms. 2. 7. Driving in Virtual Reality : Requirements for automotive research and development

    Author : Björn Blissing; Johan Ölvander; Fredrik Bruzelius; James Oliver; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Virtual Reality; Augmented Reality; Mixed Reality; Driver Behavior; Active Safety Testing;

    Abstract : In the last decades, there has been a substantial increase in the development of complex active safety systems for automotive vehicles. These systems need to be tested for verification and validation to ensure that the system intervenes in the correct situations using the correct measures. READ MORE

  3. 8. Validating User Engagement and Effectiveness of Training Simulations : A mixed-methods approach informed by embodied cognition and psychophysiological measures

    Abstract : Simulation-based training has gained widespread attention recently as a response to drawbacks associated with traditional training approaches, such as high training costs (instructors, equipment, etc.), high risks (e.g. pilot training), and ethical issues (e. READ MORE

  4. 9. Mixed Substrate Computation. Sensor Based Artificial Cognition for Architectural Design and Modification

    Author : Stig Anton Nielsen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : A mutual relationship exists between activities and their physical environment. Change of circumstances in the built environment cause change of activities, and vice versa, change of activities cause changes of physical environment. READ MORE

  5. 10. Interweaving Technology : Understanding the Design and Experience of Interactive Performances

    Author : Asreen Rostami; Jakob Tholander; Chiara Rossitto; Stuart Reeves; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Human-Computer Interaction; Interaction Design; Interactive Performance; Mixed-Reality Performance; VR; Friction; informationssamhället; Information Society;

    Abstract : This thesis builds on the growing interest in studying interactive performances within the fields of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Interaction Design (IxD). The overarching goal of this research is to investigate how creative teams and artists can incorporate interactive technologies into their artistic productions. READ MORE
