  1. 1. Distributed engineering tools and methods for collaborative product development

    University dissertation from Luleå tekniska universitet

    Author : Peter Törlind; Luleå tekniska universitet.; [2002]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Datorstödd maskinkonstruktion; Computer Aided Design; Funktionella produkter; Functional Product Development;

    Abstract : Engineering design is fundamentally social, requiring much interaction and communication between the people involved. Additionally, good design often relies upon the ability of a cross-functional team to create a shared understanding of the task, the process, and the respective roles of its members. READ MORE

    Abstract : A challenge for the clinical management of Parkinson's disease (PD) is the large within- and between-patient variability in symptom profiles as well as the emergence of motor complications which represent a significant source of disability in patients. This thesis deals with the development and evaluation of methods and systems for supporting the management of PD by using repeated measures, consisting of subjective assessments of symptoms and objective assessments of motor function through fine motor tests (spirography and tapping), collected by means of a telemetry touch screen device. 4. 4. Numerical and Symbolic Methods for Dynamic Optimization

    University dissertation from Department of Automatic Control, Lund Institute of Technology, Lund University

    Author : Fredrik Magnusson; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2016-11-18]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; dynamic optimization; differential-algebraic equations; Modelica; direct collocation; block-triangular ordering;

    Abstract : Mathematical optimization is becoming increasingly important for engineering in general and control in particular. This thesis deals with numerical methods, primarily direct collocation, and symbolic methods, primarily block-triangular ordering and tearing, for numerical solution of general dynamic optimization problems involving dynamical systems modeled by large-scale differential-algebraic equations (DAE).
