  1. 1. “Only Leave Them to Themselves” : Frances Brooke’s Fictional Worlds of Emancipatory Sensibility

    Author : Michaela Vance; Frida Beckman; Stefano Fogelberg Rota; Ian Haywood; Bo Ekelund; Paula Backscheider; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Frances Brooke; education; inborn virtue; sensibility; Christianity; Rousseau; Locke; fictional worlds; modal constraints; opera; tragedy; novel; periodical; eighteenth century; English; engelska;

    Abstract : In conversation but frequently at odds with contemporary voices on education, British eighteenth-century writer Frances Brooke (1724-1789) argued for a thoroughly revised approach to moral education that relied on the emancipatory potential of inborn sensibility. This thesis considers Brooke’s original texts, which range from periodical writing, novels, tragedies, operas, and prefaces, in the light of education, sensibility, and form, with the intention of expanding our understanding of Brooke’s contribution to eighteenth-century proto-feminist debates. 2. 2. Aircraft composites and aeroelastic tailoring

    Author : Jakob Kuttenkeuler; KTH; []
    Keywords : polymer composites; testing; resin; transfer molding; RTM; process parameters; mechanical properties; aircraft; impact damage; BVID; modal; inverse method; uncertainties; aeroelasticity; optimization; wind tunnel; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : This thesis treats various aspects of structural polymercomposites in aircraft applications. The mechanical performanceand quality of resin transfer molded (RTM) carbon fiberreinforced epoxy composites is studied. READ MORE

  3. 3. Unsupervised Learning of Biomolecular Dynamics with Multi-Modal Data

    Author : Christopher Kolloff; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; biomolecular dynamics; data-driven modeling; integrative structural biology; generative modeling; multi- modal machine learning; statistical mechanics; augmented Markov models;

    Abstract : The functioning of cells critically depends on the dynamics of biomolecular systems, such as proteins or nucleic acids. Biophysical experiments as well as Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations are the primary techniques to model and understand the kinetics and thermodynamics of biomolecules. READ MORE

  4. 4. Source Language of Lexical Transfer in Multilingual Learners : A Mixed Methods Approach

    Author : Hannah Neuser; Maria Kuteeva; Philip Shaw; Camilla Bardel; Scott Jarvis; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; multilingualism; third language acquisition; lexical transfer; crosslinguistic influence; modal differences; proficiency; recency; exposure; psychotypology; L2 status; transferability; markedness; lexical organization; activation; lexical access; English; engelska;

    Abstract : The study reported in this thesis investigates the source language of lexical transfer in multilingual learners using a mixed methods approach. Previous research has shown that the source language of crosslinguistic influence can be related to factors such as proficiency, recency/exposure, psychotypology, the L2 status, and item-specific transferability. 5. 5. A mathematical programming algorithm for optimal bus frequencies

    Author : Siv Schéele; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Assume that a bus network is given, i.e. we are given a network of streets on which certain bus lines have been set up. Let the total number of buses be given. READ MORE
