  1. 16. Modified Glycopeptides Targeting Rheumatoid Arthritis : Exploring molecular interactions in class II MHC/glycopeptide/T-cell receptor complexes

    Author : Ida E. Andersson; Jan Kihlberg; Anna Linusson Jonsson; Craig Crews; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Major histocompatibility complex; class II MHC; T-cell receptor; rheumatoid arthritis; collagen-induced arthritis; glycopeptide; amide bond isostere; comparative modeling; rational design; molecular docking; molecular dynamics simulation; statistical molecular design; Bioorganic chemistry; Bioorganisk kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry; Biorganic Chemistry; bioorganisk kemi; datorlingvistik; computational linguistics;

    Abstract : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune inflammatory disease that leads to degradation of cartilage and bone mainly in peripheral joints. In collagen-induced arthritis (CIA), a mouse model for RA, activation of autoimmune CD4+ T cells depends on a molecular recognition system where T-cell receptors (TCRs) recognize a complex between the class II MHC Aq protein and CII259-273, a glycopeptide epitope from type II collagen (CII). 2. 17. MAC, A Verified Information-Flow Control Library

    Author : Marco Vassena; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Haskell; NonInterference; Agda; Functional Programming; Information-Flow Control;

    Abstract : Information Flow Control (IFC) is a language-based security mechanism that tracks where data flows within a program and prevents leakage of sensitive data. IFC has been embedded in pure functional languages such as Haskell, in the form of a library, thus reducing the implementation and maintenance effort and fostering a secure-by-construction programming-model. 3. 18. Antiadhesive agents targeting uropathogenic Escherichia coli : Multivariate studies of protein-protein and protein-carbohydrate interactions

    Author : Andreas Larsson; Jan Kihlberg; Fredrik Almqvist; Mats Larhed; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; Antibacterial; pili; antiadhesive agents; structure based design; statistical molecular design; 2-pyridone; amino acid derivative; galabiose; enaminone; SPR; ELISA; QSAR; Organisk kemi; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : This thesis describes studies directed towards development of novel antiadhesive agents, with particular emphasis on compounds that prevent attachment of bacteria to a host-cell. Three different proteins involved in the assembly or function of adhesive pili in uropathogenic Escherichia coli have been targeted either by rational structure based design or statistical molecular methods. 4. 19. The Book of Hours of Johannete Ravenelle and the Parisian Book Illumination Around 1400

    Author : Eva Lq Sandgren; Susie Nash; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Art history; Illumination of Books and Manuscripts; Miniature Painting; Painting; Gothic; Book Production; Medieval; Artists’ workshops; Illuminators; Books of Hours; Manuscript Design; Art Patronage; Jean de France; duc de Berry; Johannete Ravenelle; late 14th Century; 1390–1410; the Master of BN fr. 159; Uppsala university Library ms UUB C 517e; Petites Heures de Jean de Berry BN lat. 18014 ; Iconography; Konstvetenskap; Art; Konstvetenskap; Konstvetenskap; History of Art;

    Abstract : Within the French book of hours C 517e in the manuscript collection of the University Library in Uppsala, the name of the owner, Johannete Ravenelle, appears in a prayer. Examination of the decoration, miniatures and texts demonstrates that ms C 517e is consistent with Parisian art and books of hours around 1400. READ MORE

  5. 20. Design of computer-based decision support for general practitioners

    Author : Toomas Timpka; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Most computer-based decision support systems (DSSs) in medicine have been developed in hospital settings, intended for use in hospitals. In this study, a DSS for general practitioners (GPs) in primary care is designed, taking into consideration that primary care is the first level in a health care organization. READ MORE
