  1. 21. Analysis of Industrial Microwave Ovens

    Author : Magnus Sundberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; source model; heat transfer; moment method; finite difference time domain; TM applicator; GMT; edge diffraction; thermal simulation; MMP; FDTD; generalized multipole technique; cost function; MM; optimization; magnetron; simulated annealing; multiple multipole program; microwave heating; edge overheating; TE applicator; tunnel-oven; applicator;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the analysis and design of microwave ovens used in the food industry. Such analysis is desirable in order to optimize the performance of the ovens and to reduce the time and expenses of developing new or improved ovens. READ MORE

  2. 22. Simple principles of cognitive computation with distributed representations

    Author : Blerim Emruli; Serge Thill; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Industriell elektronik; Industrial Electronics;

    Abstract : Brains and computers represent and process sensory information in different ways. Bridgingthat gap is essential for managing and exploiting the deluge of unprocessed andcomplex data in modern information systems. READ MORE

  3. 23. Classification of Remotely Sensed Data Utilising the Autocorrelation between Spatio-Temporal Neighbours

    Author : Ann-Marie Flygare; Sweden Umeå Umeå University Department of Mathematical Statistics; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Image classification; strong mixing; spatio-temporal model; autocorrelation model; autocorrelation estimator; robustness aspects; strong consistency; asymptotic normality; evaluation; Statistik; Statistics;

    Abstract : The subject of this thesis is methods for classifying land using satellite images, and adherent parameter estimation. A satellite image consists of a set of pixels where measurements of spectral intensities are observed. Based on these spectral intensities, each pixel is assigned a class. READ MORE

  4. 24. On the Power of Quantum Computation: Oracles

    Author : Niklas Johansson; Jan-Åke Larsson; Peter Jonsson; Göran Johansson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Quantum computation solve some computational problems faster than the best-known alternative in classical computation. The evidence for this consists of examples where a quantum algorithm outperforms the best-known classical algorithm. READ MORE

  5. 25. A height datum for Uganda based on a gravimetric quasigeoid model and GNSS/levelling

    Author : Ronald Ssengendo; Lars Sjoberg; Anthony Gidudu; Hossein Nahavandchi; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geoid model; GNSS levelling; KTH method; Uganda; Uganda Vertical Network; Quasigeoid model; Geodesy and Geoinformatics; Geodesi och geoinformatik;

    Abstract : This study is devoted to the determination of a high resolution gravimetric geoid model for Uganda based on the optimal combination of terrestrial and satellite gravity anomalies using the method of Least Squares Modification of Stokes’ formula with additive corrections. Specifically the study investigates the current status of the existing Uganda Vertical Network relative to the requirements of a modern height datum and includes a detailed evaluation and validation of terrestrial gravity data, several digital elevation models and some recent global geopotential models.
