1. Moisture permeability of mature concrete, cement mortar and cement paste
Abstract : Moisture permeability tests were performed on specimens of concrete, cement mortar and cement paste with the bottom side in water or in moist air and the upper side in a relative humidity of 33 %. The distribution of the relative humidity within the specimen was measured, at stationary conditions, as well as the amount of water which pass through the specimen. READ MORE

2. A Quantitative Thermogravimetric Study on the Nonevaporable Water in Mature Silica Fume Concrete: Influence of Carbonation and Moisture Conditions
Abstract : The primary goal of the project presented here was to study and quantify the influence of materials parameters (cement type, silica fume content, w/c ratio, type and dose of superplasticizers) and environmental parameters (carbonation and moisture history) on the nonevaporable water in hydrated cement composites. In order to achieve this, a thermogravimetric method which separates different types of nonevaporable water (bound in different hydrates and hydroxide) and carbonation products was developed. 3. Moisture Conditions in High Performance Concrete. Mathematical Modelling and Measurements
Abstract : The work presented in this thesis has been focused on developing a model to calculate the moisture conditions in concrete of low water/binder ratio (W/B) which is normally used in high performance concrete. To do this, the moisture conditions in high performance concrete have been studied, from a very early age. READ MORE

4. Experimental studies of sorption and transport of moisture in cement based materials with supplementary cementitious materials
Abstract : Most deterioration processes in cement based materials are closely related to moisture sorption and moisture transport properties. Therefore, it is important to study these properties, both theoretically and practically. This work is an experimental investigation in this field. READ MORE

5. Hydration, pore structure, and related moisture properties of fly ash blended cement-based materials : Experimental methods and laboratory measurements
Abstract : Cement-based materials, such as mortar and concrete, are the most employed construction materials in the world. Cement is an important component; it reacts with water to form a glue, called cement paste, which causes the material to harden. Today, cement production accounts for a significant portion of the world’s annual carbon dioxide emissions. READ MORE
