11. Combinatorial Methodology. Screening for affinity specific ligands to biological and artificial receptors
Abstract : Combinatorial screening methodology has been employed to select new affinity specific ligands to bilogical and artificial receptors. The screening methodology, in particular screening of combinatorial phage display peptide libraries against target molecules differing in function and shape, is focused upon. READ MORE

12. Nano- and Micro-sized Molecularly Imprinted Polymer Materials for Analytical Application
Abstract : Specific molecular recognition materials are important in analytical applications. It has been a longstanding dream for scientific explorers to realise a versatile method to generate materials that can recognize biological and chemical substance of interests. READ MORE

13. Molecularly Imprinted Polymers at the Nanometric Scale: Synthetic Receptors for Chemical Sensors
Abstract : In this thesis, polymerisation techniques or deposition methods have been developed permitting the creation of thin molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) films or patterns and their interfacing with transducer surfaces for biosensor applications. The creation of ultra thin films has been achieved using two different techniques, spin-coating and in-situ polymerization of thin films of monomers containing a sacrificial polymeric porogen, and autoassembly of MIP nanoparticles with the aid of an associative linear polymer. 15. Epigenetic Control of Mammalian Development : Studies on an imprinting control region
Abstract : A subset of autosomal genes is preferentially or exclusively expressed from one of the parental alleles. This phenomenon, termed genomic imprinting, is highlighted by the neighboring Igf2 and H19 genes, which are monoallelically expressed on opposite parental chromosomes. These features are governed by a 2. READ MORE
