1. Synthesis and applications of analogues of Tröger's base as molecular tubes, receptor and ligands
Abstract : Tröger’s base was synthesized for the first time in 1887. The molecule is rigid, C2-symmetric and has a 90° angle, forming a chiral hydrophobic pocket. In this thesis, the synthesis of new analogues of Tröger’s base is described. 2- and 3-halo-substituted anilines have for the first time been condensed to Tröger’s base analogues. READ MORE

2. Applications of Four-Colour Fluorescent Primer Extension Technology for SNP Analysis and Discovery
Abstract : Studies on genetic variation can reveal effects on traits and disease, both in humans and in model organisms. Good technology for the analysis of DNA sequence variations is critical. Currently the development towards assays for large-scale and parallel DNA sequencing and genotyping is progressing rapidly. READ MORE

3. Molecular regulation of epithelial tube size
Abstract : In nature, epithelial tubes are vital structures in organ design and are required for transport of gases and liquids in organs, such as the vascular system, the vertebrate lung and the kidneys. The tubular epithelium is single layered, but is often reinforced by layers of muscular support. READ MORE

4. Characterization of regulatory factors controlling tip growth in Nicotiana tabacum pollen tubes
Abstract : Rho GTPases constitute a family of highly conserved signaling proteins with key functions in the regulation of cellular polarization and polar cell growth. In plants, Rho GTPases are represented by a plant specific subfamily referred to as Rac/Rop GTPases. READ MORE

5. In silico studies of carbon nano tubes and metal clusters
Abstract : Carbon nanotubes have been envisioned to become a very important material in various applications. This is due to the unique properties of carbon nanotubes which can be exploited in applications on length scales spanning from the nano world to our macroscopic world. READ MORE
