  1. 1. Molecular mechanisms of nerve-tumor interactions : the intersection of cancer and neurodevelopment

    Author : Luz Maria Gonzalez-Castrillon; Sara I Wilson; Daniel Öhlund; Nisha D’Silva; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Perineural invasion; cancer; PDAC; axonogenesis; neurodevelopment; spinal cord; axon guidance; bioinformatics.; biomedical laboratory science; biomedicinsk laboratorievetenskap;

    Abstract : A wide range of cancers throughout the body are characterized by high nerve density and invasion of cancer cells within the nerves, a process called perineural invasion (PNI). Work in the field has shown that blocking nerves in organs with tumors leads to improved disease outcomes suggesting that finding ways to block tumor nerves could lead to new treatment approaches. 2. 2. Interface-Assisted Perovskite Modulations for High-Performance Light-Emitting Diodes

    Author : Chaoyang Kuang; Feng Gao; Sai Bai; Niclas Solin; Olle Inganäs; Mingjian Yuan; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Metal halide perovskite; Light-emitting diodes; Deprotonation; Interfacial reaction; Additive; Molecular interactions; Metall-halid-perovskiter; Lysdioder; Deprotonering; Gränsytegenererade reaktion; Tillsatsämnen; Molekylära interaktioner;

    Abstract : Metal halide perovskites have emerged as a class of promising materials for a wide range of optoelectronic devices. Compared with traditional inorganic and organic semiconductors, perovskite materials can be easily processed via solution-based techniques at low temperatures and exhibit high photo-luminescence efficiency, outstanding colour purity, and superior charge transport properties, showing great promise for cost-effective and high-performance light-emitting diodes (LEDs). 3. 3. Molecular interactions between quinoa, the biocontrol agent Trichoderma and the pathogen Peronospora variabilis

    Author : Oscar Miguel Rollano Penaloza; Molekylär cellbiologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chenopodium quinoa; Peronospora variabilis; Trichoderma harzianum; Molecular interactions; qRT-PCR; RNA-seq; Plant growth promotion; Chenopodium quinoa; Peronospora variabilis; Trichoderma harzianum; RNA-seq; qRT-PCR; molekylära interaktioner;

    Abstract : Plants have developed complex molecular mechanisms to recognize and respond to the different microorganisms present in their surroundings. The most studied response mechanisms are plant defense responses. These defense response mechanisms share many similar components with the plant response mechanisms to beneficial microbes. READ MORE

  5. 5. Structure and Dynamics of Hydrated Biopolymers

    Author : Poornima Ramamohan; Jakob Wohlert; Istvan Furo; Fritjof Nilsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : Hydrated Polysaccharides; Molecular Dynamics Simulations; Structure-Function Properties; Convergence of Equilibrium Timescales; Chemical Heterogeneity; Hydrerade polysackarider; molekylära dynamiksimuleringar; struktur- funktionsegenskaper; konvergens av jämviktstidskalor; kemisk heterogenitet; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Abstract : Hydrated polysaccharide systems primarily using xylans along with mutans and alternans were studied using long atomistic simulations over a few microseconds to analyse structure-function relationships and nanoscale interactions with moisture. The influence of various structural and chemical factors such as alignment, nature of glycosidic linkage, effect of moisture / chemical substitutions was explored with a focus on structure-dynamics correlations to aid in the effective functionalisation of biomaterials for the development of a green, circular bioeconomy.
