  1. 6. Project Evaluation in Development Cooperation : A Meta-Evaluative Case Study in Tanzania

    Author : Mikiko Cars; Jan-Ingvar Löfstedt; Roy Carr-Hill; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; meta-evaluation; social programme evaluation theories and methodology; international development cooperation; development evaluation; community based approach; actor oriented approach; participatory monitoring and evaluation; responsive-constructivist evaluation; Tanzania; International education; Internationell pedagogik;

    Abstract : The research reported here is a meta-evaluative case study of project evaluation in the context of Official Development Cooperation (ODC) in the education sector in Tanzania, where the particular focus is on capturing the relative values attached to evaluation by various stakeholder groups.Perspectives from the constructivist paradigm are adopted, implying relativist ontology, subjectivist epistemology, and naturalistic interpretive methodology. 2. 7. Rock Evaluation Using Digital Images and Drill Monitoring Data : Before and after rock blasting

    Author : Sohail Manzoor; Anna Gustafson; Håkan Schunnesson; Daniel Johansson; Philipp Hartlieb; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Measurement while drilling; Photogrammetry; Rock fragmentation; Gruv- och berganläggningsteknik; Mining and Rock Engineering;

    Abstract : This research is carried out to better understand the nature of the rock mass and to have a better anticipation of rock fragmentation before blasting the rock mass. Current practices of assessing rock mass usually involve techniques that focus on the surface or outcrop of the rock mass such as scanline surveys, window surveys, photogrammetry and laser scanning etc. READ MORE

    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Abstract : A good deal of resources has been invested in building and maintaining existing infrastructure.Many structures are now becoming old and do not meet the requirements of an increasingtraffic load, or are reaching the end of their lifecycle. READ MORE

  5. 10. Spaceborne SAR in Sea Ice Monitoring: Algorithm Development and Validation for the Baltic Sea

    Author : Anders Berg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Abstract : The usefulness of new spaceborne synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) sensors at L-, C-, and X-band for operational sea ice monitoring in the Baltic Sea has been evaluated. It is concluded that the information content in C-band and X-band data is largely equivalent, although larger spatial coverage is an advantage of the current C-band satellites. READ MORE
