6. Clinical, histopathologic and genetic diagnosis in osteogenesis imperfecta and dentinogenesis imperfecta
Abstract : The aims of this thesis were to investigate (1) dental aberrations in a large sample of unrelated patients with different types and forms of OI, (2) degree of dentin dysplasia in relation to type and form of OI and clinical, radiographic, and microscopic manifestations and type of DI, and (3) genotypes and phenotypes in two families with DI type II with special reference to clinical, radiographic, and histopathologic manifestations. In study I, morphological and clinical variation in the expression of DI within one family was described. READ MORE

7. The complexity of prognostication in musculoskeletal sarcomas. An analysis of four illustrative entities
Abstract : Although malignant musculoskeletal tumors are rare, they encompass numerous entities with a wide morphological, clinical and prognostic spectrum. Sarcoma surgery is particularly demanding. Treatment must take into account the lesionís inherent biologic behavior, anatomic location and individual patient factors. READ MORE

8. Role of platelets and neutrophils in regulating trypsinogen activation and tissue damage in acute pancreatitis
Abstract : Acute pancreatitis is an inflammatory disease characterized by a diverse spectrum of clinical presentations ranging from a mild and self-limiting to a severe and systemic disorder. The relationship between inflammation and proteolytic activation in pancreatitis is an elusive issue. READ MORE

9. Regolith Properties of Mercury Derived from Observations and Modelling
Abstract : The properties of Mercury's regolith have been investigated at optical and near-infrared wavelengths with high-resolution imaging, photometric, and spectroscopic observations with the Swedish Vacuum Solar Telescope and the Nordic Optical Telescope. A new global optical map at a spatial resolution of 200 km shows that the well known (from Mariner 10) and poorly known hemispheres are indistinguishable with respect to the distribution, number density, and morphological parameters of bright albedo features. 10. Fine needle aspiration diagnosis of spindle cell tumors of soft tissue, including the use of ancillary methods, and correlation with clinical data
Abstract : Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) is gaining increased popularity in the diagnosis of soft tissue lesions. FNAC used as a primary examination method to obtain a morphologic diagnosis, has been part of the diagnostic work-up of patients admitted to the Musculoskeletal Tumor Center of the Lund University Hospital since 1972.
