  1. 1. Masticatory retraining effect on masseter muscle, facial morphology and alveolar bone structure in the adult rat

    Author : Anna Ödman; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; adult; rat; craniofacial morphology; alveolar trabecular bone; MYH; mandible; masticatory function;

    Abstract : The aim of this series of investigations was to study the effect of masticatory muscle retraining in adult rats with an earlier reduced masticatory muscle function on the craniofacial morphology, on the internal alveolar bone structure and on the deep masseter muscle. Material and Methods: Sixty young male rats received soft diet for a prolonged period, so that the animals developed weak masticatory muscles. READ MORE

  2. 2. Factors affecting neurosensory disturbances after mandibular osteotomies. Clinical and experimental studies

    Author : Awwad Al-Bishri; Malmö högskola; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Mandible; Osteotomy;

    Abstract : Sensibilitetsnedsättning är en vanlig komplikation till kirurgisk korrigering av käkställningsfel i mandibeln speciellt vid användande av sagittal split teknik. Med denna teknik är risken för skada av n. READ MORE

  3. 3. Craniofacial morphology and growth in the ferret: effects from alteration of masticatory function

    Author : Tailun He; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : INTRODUCTION: Our hypothesis is that any effects on craniofacial growth and morphology induced by altering the masticatory function will vary according to the species involved. The general aim of this thesis was to test the possible effects of altering the masticatory function on craniofacial growth and morphology, as well as features of masticatory muscles in ferrets. Abstract : The biological mechanisms involved in bone regeneration in osteoporotic bone and the effect of antiresorptive drugs in relation to surgically inserted biomaterials are not fully understood. Improved osseointegration of titanium implants but also adverse effects of antiresorptive therapies, such as osteonecrotic jaw have been described in the literature. READ MORE

  5. 5. Craniofacial Height in Relation to Alveolar Bone Morphology

    Author : Anna Klinge; Irena Sailer; Malmö universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : There is a constant development towards a more aesthetically oriented dentistry. New techniques and new materials are introduced to improve and optimise treatment results and shorten treatment time. This development can be favourable for both the dentist and the patient. READ MORE
