11. Tilting trains : Technology, benefits and motion sickness
Abstract : Carbody tilting is today a mature and inexpensive technology allowing higher speeds in curves and thus reduced travel time. The technology is accepted by most train operators, but a limited set of issues still holding back the full potential of tilting trains. READ MORE

12. From Motion Pictures to Robotic Features : Adopting film sound design practices to foster sonic expression in social robotics through interactive sonification
Abstract : This dissertation investigates the role of sound design in social robotics, drawing inspiration from robot depictions in science-fiction films. It addresses the limitations of robots’ movements and expressive behavior by integrating principles from film sound design, seeking to improve human-robot interaction through expressive gestures and non-verbal sounds. 13. Pre-crash Motion Planning for Autonomous Vehicles in Unavoidable Collision Scenarios
Abstract : Full deployment of Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) on public roads is challenging for organizations in the automotive domain in terms of developing safety standards and methods while taking legacy assumptions related to having a human driver and increased complexity and complexity handling into account. Specifically, the safety of AVs in the presence of other road users must be guaranteed as far as possible for different traffic scenarios. READ MORE

14. Target-driven road vehicle suspension design
Abstract : This thesis is focused on suspension hardpoint and bushing compliance design with new reverse engineering methods that are based on kinematics and compliance constraints. The kinematic reverse design method is implemented into a conceptual front axle development. The results show that, using this method, the design lead time is reduced by half. READ MORE

15. Sound for Multisensory Motion Simulators
Abstract : Interaction in a virtual reality environment often implies situations of illusory self-motion, like, for example, in flight or driving scenarios. Striving for pictorial realism, currently available motion simulators often exhibit relatively poor sound design. READ MORE
